The past couple of weeks have been full of change. Adalyn began daycare and mommy has gone back to work. This past weekend, we had our first "present" from daycare- an upper respiratory infection and a mild ear infection- that only took two weeks! In the meantime, Adalyn has turned 4 months and what a big girl she is becoming! She no longer likes to be held like a baby- and when I think back to the time where she liked to be held and rocked, I wish I had known how short that time would be so I could have savored it a bit longer. Instead, she's growing up faster than Mommy could imagine! And getting more beautiful and smarter by the day if I may say so myself. :) Her milestones this month include:
- grabbing for objects in front of her and bringing them to her mouth
- sitting up in the bumbo (short periods of time at first)
- rolling onto her left side (especially at night)
- no more swaddling (we use a sleep sack at night now)
- sucking her thumb (which we've decided is okay because it at least keeps her calm and she mostly does this when she's sleeping)
- LOTS of talking (I hope to post a video of this later- it's pretty funny)
- Dropped a feeding and now down to 5 feedings a day
She still has the chubbiest cheeks around. I love them because when you look at her profile, you can't really see a nose or a mouth- just cheeks!! At her four month appointment she weighed 16 lbs 13 oz (80th percentile) which the doctor assures me is just fine and healthy. I'll post more about daycare and working when I get more time (yeah right!), but in the meantime I'll get on with the real meaning of this post: Happy 4 Months, baby girl!!
Yes, I have shoes to match my outfits- don't you?
Adalyn's "talking" expression
Loving her bumbo and sitting up like a big girl!
