Although Nashville hasn't seen any snow yet this year, there is a lot of snowballing going on in the Malloy household. When we knew it was time to prepare the nursery, we new there'd be changes but probably didn't realize how much we'd allow the changes to continue to "scope creep" throughout the house. Here's how it starts...
Since we are having to move office furniture out of our 3rd bedroom and into our bonus room to create the nursery, we figured now would be a good time to replace carpet upstairs before we move a 10 ton desk into the room. This carpet must be replaced before selling our home due to a cat living there for the past few years. So if we're replacing carpet upstairs, we might as well replace carpet in the nursery and give Adalyn a clean surface to play on since that room will be empty too. However, before you replace carpet it would be a smart idea to paint both rooms so any spillage wouldn't fall on new carpet. And if we're redoing the upstairs with paint and carpet, wouldn't it be great to have new furniture to sit on up there? And if we can get a good deal on replacing carpet in the whole house, why wouldn't we just go ahead and do it all?? Tumble, tumble, tumble and the snowball continues to build...
I am thankful for our home and for my husband who's engineering skills and interest in Adalyn's nursery are really taking flight in these projects. A few weeks ago, we chose Carter's Garden Butterfly bedding in a pretty lavendar and brown.
We've got paint samples up on the wall and have decided to go with a deeper shade of purple called Mystic Purple from Porter's line to make the bedding and crib "pop." Our good friends Trey and Heather got us a great deal on some No VOC paint. Mom is busy in Athens working with her carpet guy to see if we can afford to replace carpet in our whole house. And my Papa is measuring and building a quilt hanger and changing station for our dresser. I'm very blessed to have the family and support we do. Adalyn is a lucky little girl to be joining us in this world of blessings!
