Malloy Family Memories

Eliana is 3 Months

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

You can tell I am a temporary stay-at-home mom right now because I'm actually getting in a monthly blog update on time!  Eliana had a great 3rd month.  It's been fun staying home with her and watching her grow while also keeping Adalyn home a couple days a week, too.  My girls are so much fun :)  Eliana has picked up sucking her thumb already and that is great because it helps her get to sleep.  She's also discovered the bumbo a bit, still loves to swing, and bat at the toys in the bouncer or play mat.  We've also done our extra month of wearing the harness at night so we shouldn't have to wear it at all anymore.  Yay!  She is a couple pounds smaller than Adalyn at this point, so during our little photo shoot today she was able to wear my dress and shoes from when I was 3 months.  Ady was too big to wear the dress at her 3 month pictures!

Speaking of Adalyn, she is a mess and a half these days.  She talks and talks... sometimes she can get her point across and sometimes Ryan and I just look at each other with puzzled expressions like "what did she just say?"  She loves singing "abcbs" and walking around with Mommy's iPhone listening to music.  She actually knows how to turn on the music on her own- it's really funny.  Her newest entertainment is taking her clothes off- either when she wakes up in the morning or in the evening pretending like she's going potty.  Now if we could only get her potty trained so I don't have to buy diapers for two anymore!  Some new favorite words are "Elmo" (loooooves Elmo and hands me the "mote" to turn it on!), "nack" (snack), "ight" (light), "my bank" (blanket), "hah" (up), "molk" (milk), "ju" (juice), and of course always talking about "Mommy," "Daddy," and "Baby."  She's also funny about claiming things as her own- holding something in her hands, patting her chest, and saying "Ady" or "mine."  Toddlers are so hilarious.  We are still battling ear infections a lot so we hope once those clear up for good we will hear more progression with her words and speech.

This month we also took another trip to Athens to celebrate Christmas with my family.  Eliana met her Uncle Jake and Aunt Missy for the first time.  They live in south Georgia so we don't get to see them very often, but it was a fun quick trip.  The girls did really well and Adalyn even watched movies in the car a couple times to help pass the time.

Here are a few pictures of February 2012 with the Malloys:

Sweet big sister always giving kisses on Eliana's head!

We've gotten a lot of use out of this bouncer seat thanks to Julie!

Tummy time finally without the harness!
